Below you will see current listing, pending and August home sales data for the City of Bath and Towns of Brunswick and Topsham, which are the major towns in Maine Home Realty’s Market Area.

Current listings remain at, or near, peak summer levels in both Bath & Brunswick, but have fallen off 21% in Topsham. As we surmised last month, from the July Pending Sales data, August Home Sales did finish out the summer strongly in all 3 towns. Pending sales fell off a bit in August for both Bath and Brunswick, but continue strong in Topsham, which helps to explain the drop in current inventory there. This is not unexpected as families want to be in their new homes, not just under contract, by the beginning of the school year.

At Maine Home Realty, we have continued to see good buyer activity in our marketplace during the first weeks of September, and expect that to carry through to Columbus Day and, perhaps, beyond!

With Labor Day over and the kids all back in school, we’ve turned the corner toward what some people think is Maine’s most beautiful season. The traffic is easier, the leaves will soon be a blaze of colors and cooler temperatures will be appreciated.
