With the holidays behind us, the decorations taken down, and the frigid temps of January enveloping our little corner of Maine, we note that Bath’s nickname of name of Maine’s “Cool Little City” has never been more fitting! We have time to take a look back and see that Home Sales in Bath finished strongly in the final month of 2014.
December ended with just 67 Current listings, down from 78 at the end of November, with only February having fewer current listings (66) during 2014. The month ended with 13 Pending Sales (5 less than November) and 11 Closed Sales in December (2 more than in November).
In a repeat of November, the Average Days on Market increased over the prior month, but Median Price went up, too, and Sales Price to List Price ratio remained at a strong 98% in December.
Since mid-December, Maine Home Realty has responded to a marked increase in inquiries from home owners interested in listing their homes for sale. As we dream of warmer weather and the Spring Home Selling Season, this should bode well for Buyers who will have a wider selection of properties to view, and be able to take advantage of continued low mortgage interest rates.
