Bath, Maine – January 2015 Real Estate Market Report

Snow buries signs and homes

When is the snow going to stop falling?  In the City of Bath, the snow is piled up so high along streets and driveways, that real estate lawn signs are buried!  It is only the totally intrepid Home Sellers and Home Buyers who will forge onward and win this day!  The snow is, indeed, falling again as this is being written.

Bath Home sales have nowhere to go but up in 2015!

January ended with 72 Current Listings (up 5 from year-end), 13 Pending Sales (same as December), and only 3 Closed Sales (a decrease of 8 from December).

Keep in mind that sales which closed in January were most likely put under contract in November or December – – you might surmise that the holidays impacted home sales in Bath.  Note, however, that Brunswick and Topsham did not see a corresponding drop-off in their sales numbers, so this is a disappointing start to the year.

With our business in Bath, and living in Bath, we’d sure like to see more people excited about home ownership in Bath!   Historic Home Lovers, Visionaries, DIYers and Urbanites (mini-urbanites?) will appreciate the community that Bath offers.

Remember to call Maine Home Realty if you need assistance with buying or selling a home in Maine’s “Cool Little City” of Bath!
