The Maine Association of Realtors (MAR) reported strong January home sales with volume up 21.39% and median price up 3.18% over January 2012 stats for all of Maine. Below you will see current listing, pending and February home sales data for the City of Bath and Towns of Brunswick and Topsham, which are the major towns in Maine Home Realty’s Market Area.
It looks like the momentum we’ve been seeing since mid-2012 is continuing in our area towns and we only hope that the Sequester doesn’t hang around long enough to drag home sales back down.
If we compare February results with last month’s market numbers for Bath, Brunswick and Topsham, we see the gradual addition of new listings as we march toward spring, despite the hurdles that all the February snowstorms presented. In Bath and Topsham, pending and sold numbers held steady, and while Brunswick sales held steady, pending sales are down a bit. Buyers are waiting for new spring listings to come on so they can BUY!
If you are ready to buy or sell a home, or if you’d just like to know how things are shaping up in your own backyard, give us a call!
